Welcome to Day 8 of my blog.
Today, I want to share one of the most beautiful and unforgettable experiences of my life 🤍. This happened about three years ago, when my uncle and aunt, who were living abroad, came back to Sri Lanka. ✈️
We wanted to enjoy a new and different experience together. So, with everyone’s agreement — me, my uncle, my aunt, my aunt’s sister, and her brother — we decided to go on a boat safari at Madu River 🚤🌿.At around 9:40 in the morning, we got into the boat. Slowly and peacefully, we moved forward along the river. Passing through the beautiful mangrove trees, the journey felt calm and magical 🌳💚.
Our first stop was Kothduwa Temple, a temple located in the middle of the river 🛕✨. It was a very peaceful and beautiful place.
On the way, we stopped at a small shop in the middle of the river, parked our boat, and enjoyed some refreshing kirala drinks 🍹😋
Next, we visited another small island in the river. The people living there earn their income through the cinnamon industry 🌿. We watched how cinnamon is prepared, and they kindly offered us a cup of delicious cinnamon tea. ☕🤎
After that, we went to the fish spa 🐟💦 , this was my favorite place! I sat down and put my feet into the water, and many little fish came and gently nibbled my feet. At first, it felt a bit ticklish 😄, but later you get used to it. It was very relaxing and refreshing for the mind. 🌸🧘♀️
We also met a few new little friends along the way 🥰.
This is a jellyfish — we saw many of them during the trip 🪼✨.
And here is a tiny baby monkey 🐒💞. Can you see how it’s hugging me? Such an innocent little friend!
This is a baby crocodile 🐊😲 — but don’t worry, this one was also a harmless little buddy.
After experiencing all these wonderful moments, we happily started our journey back home with beautiful memories in our hearts 💖🏡.
